OWIG Resume Refresher

Join Ohio Women in Government for a lunchtime workshop focused on updating and refreshing your résumé.

In this one-hour workshop on résumé writing, participants will learn about key components needed in résumés today, as well as how to customize content to employer interests. Participants also learn how to identify your best transferable skills and accomplishments to set yourself apart from the competition. All attendees will leave with résumé examples, handouts for reference, and increased comfort and confidence when describing their value and potential to employers.

Bio of Instructor

Amanda Fox, MA, LPCC, CPRW: Director of Career Development & Counseling at New Directions Career Center. Amanda joined the Center as a clinical counseling intern in 2005, as part of her graduate training. Her undergraduate background was in Psychology and Women’s Studies. She earned her master's degree in Counselor Education at The Ohio State University in 2006, and joined the Center as a full-time career counselor shortly after. She became a Certified Professional Resume Writer in 2010. Today, she provides group program instruction and individual career counseling at the Center in addition to her program direction duties. She believes the résumé can be a great tool to aid in self-discovery and confidence building, and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for résumé creation with her clients and colleagues alike.
